I built it because I refused to let life decide who I would become.
There have been seasons that could have rewritten my story. Abuse. Domestic violence. Bankruptcy. Heartbreak. Being robbed. Being hacked. Being stalked. Betrayal. Loss. Pain. Starting over — more than once.
Every one of those moments showed up with the same question… “Are you going to stop building?”
My answer became… Absolutely not.
DesignHER wasn’t born from perfection. It was built in the middle of construction. While healing. While rebuilding. While growing. While figuring it out.
God never asked me to wait until life became easy. He handed me tools. He taught me how to pray with authority. How to heal with intention. How to write the vision. How to build businesses. How to steward money. How to lead people. How to create freedom.
Those tools changed my life. Now they’re yours.
This is not a highlight reel. This is every year of my life laid side by side — what was breaking on the left, what I was building on the right. Read them together. That is the whole lesson: you do not need life to cooperate before you are allowed to build.
Every dollar of it earned in the same years you are about to read about.
My family lost everything. No safety net, no fallback, no one coming.
I learned early what it costs to have nothing — and I decided I would never be that unprepared again.
I started working with a man who promised to pay me. He never did.
I got my first official job. I learned taxes from the inside out — and I kept the knowledge even when I didn’t get the check.
My business partner — who was also my boyfriend — became physically violent in the office, in front of my team. He strangled me badly enough that I couldn’t move my neck without steroids.
Cashed out my 401(k) and opened my tax company. Brought in over $40,000 in my very first tax season. Closed my first year at over $120,000.
I handed the business I built to the man who hurt me, and walked away with nothing but what I knew. New city. No clients. No name. No network.
Rebuilt the firm from zero in a city where nobody knew me. Finished the year at $140,000.
Worked a full 9-to-5 while running the firm — no rest, no margin.
Ran the same model again and it worked again. That’s when I knew it was a blueprint, not luck. Bought my dream home. Opened a women’s car dealership so my clients would stop getting taken advantage of on the lot. Finished at $160,000.
I was sexually assaulted at a business meeting while my assistant was on the phone in the next room. Lost over $80,000 in the car business to family and friends I brought in to work with me. A staff member stole a car.
The owner of the commercial storefront I wanted told me no. I asked to meet him face to face — and he said yes. Signed my first commercial lease. Crossed $200,000.
The IRS audited multiple years. I didn’t pass. I was left with a six-figure tax bill. The man who told me he was going to marry me was cheating. I found out, and it broke me.
Held $200,000 while carrying a six-figure bill and a broken heart. Kept every client I had.
The IRS placed a lien on my properties. Over $100,000 in tax debt — because my books weren’t kept the way they wanted them in my first years. Healing from personal and family trauma at the same time.
Kept the firm open and the doors unlocked while the lien sat on everything I owned. Grew anyway.
Someone broke into my office. We were robbed.
Reopened and resumed business — because my clients still needed me. Finished at $210,000.
More family trauma, more drama. Still healing from everything the years before had handed me.
Held the business steady through a year that took a lot of people out.
COVID shut down my brick-and-mortar in the middle of tax season. The IRS audited the business.
Moved the entire firm home and ran the season from my house. Grew to $225,000 in the year the storefront closed.
A long-term relationship ended. Another heartbreak. The IRS revoked my passport and my right to travel.
Invested $55,000 in myself to learn online marketing. Had my first $100,000 week. Crossed $300,000 for the first time.
I was stalked, hacked, harassed, and threatened with harm. I had to install cameras around my home and bring in law enforcement.
Served my clients through an entire season while afraid in my own home. Held $275,000.
The stalking continued. Someone showed up at my home and threatened me. I feared for my life. One of my companies filed bankruptcy. The IRS audited all four of my companies. I was devastated.
Grew to $285,000 in the year I was most afraid.
Forced to file personal bankruptcy. Watched my credit fall from 800 to the 500s. Endured extreme verbal abuse from someone whose entity I helped build while I let mine suffer. Invested over $50,000 into a business I was then removed from — lost the money and the years. Still unmarried. Still praying prayers that hadn’t been answered.
Went back to $300,000 in the year the paperwork said I had nothing.
My bankruptcy was dismissed, leaving me with $600,000 in debt. Credit dropped into the 400s. Loss, transition, and lawsuits — all at once.
My highest year ever: $380,000. Started turning every single thing on this timeline into BuildHer Blueprint — so the women coming behind me don’t have to learn it the way I did.
Every year on this list has something in it that could have ended me. And every year on this list has a number next to it.
That is the whole point. I did not build because life got easier. I built while it was hard — and you are not looking at someone who hasn’t built anything.
Abuse · Assault · Abortion · Bankruptcy · Audits & Liens · Stalking · Betrayal · Heartbreak
If you are in the middle of a hard year right now, and you are still showing up — you are already doing it.
BuildHer Blueprint exists so you don’t have to learn it the way I did.
To help women stop surviving and start building.
Because the woman God is calling you to become… is built one decision at a time.
“I don’t teach women how to escape hard seasons.
I teach them how to build in the middle of them.”
